Farewell (at least for the moment)
Please note that we hope to hold a special service (with refreshments) this evening to say a formal farewell (or should that be au revoir) to Stephen & Helen Woods, as Stephen will be taking up a position in the Fermanagh area shortly. Stephen and Helen, both individually and together, have contributed greatly to the life of this church, and their loss will be sorely felt. However, time moves on, and this is the beginning of a new chapter in their lives, and we wish them Gods richest blessing as they start work in the west of Ireland. In conjunction with this event, it is still possible to contribute to a farewell gift, so if this affects you, please put your gift in an envelope in the collection plate, marked Stephen & Helen Woods. Also, please remember to pray for them as they start out on this new adventure, with all the changes that that will bring. Thank you.
G-Force/Childrens Church
Parents, please note that although G-Force has ended for this session, there will be a combined Childrens Church/G-Force for any that want to avail of it over the month of June. All children affected by this will leave the service at the normal time for Childrens Church. The last Sunday for this will be next Sunday (26th June).
Fundraising
Treasure Hunt (and BBQ)
Ok, the moment is nearly here, when you can exercise those grey cells, by using your brain to work out the treasure in this Fridays Treasure Hunt. It begins from our church at 7pm. If youre interested or find you have some free time, then theres still time to add your name to the list in the porch or else see Betty Stewart. Entry fee per person is £5, with drivers going free. Those who make it back to church can enjoy some refreshments (a barbeque, no less, or so Im led to believe Ed.). It should be a good night.
(Note: Its not real treasure, well, not the sort you can spend sorry to disappoint)
Simple Faith Concert
There is an opportunity coming up this Friday (24th June) to hear Simple Faith again in Jordanstown Christian Centre admission free, but a collection will be taken which will be going towards Project Romania. Unfortunately, it clashes with the Treasure Hunt above, but if you cant go to one, maybe you can go to the other.
Crèche
Urgent Help Needed Crèche facilities are provided each Sunday during morning worship and are vital in allowing parents to attend our church services. Unfortunately over the last few months a few of our volunteers are unable to offer their support. We are in URGENT need of new volunteers, whether you can commit to one month a year, or just the occasional Sunday morning. Please contact Deborah Green 028 9335 5986. (All help is very welcome)
Revival The real hope for this country
In 2008, Brother David Jardine, through Divine Healing Ministries, an interdenominational healing ministry based in Belfast, felt called to spearhead seven years of prayer for revival in Ireland. Many people have pledged to pray every day. On Saturday the 25th June 2011 from 10.30 am until 3.30 pm, the culminating event for this 3rd year will be held as people meet together in St Anne's Cathedral, Belfast. A number of speakers will be leading different sessions throughout the day, including Pastor Lindsay Allen of Carrickfergus, Rev Godfrey Brown, former Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland, and Rev Pat Collins, of the Vincentian Community, who is widely used as a speaker on renewal, spirituality and healing both in Ireland and abroad. All are welcome

Portstewart Sesquicentennial (I think Ed.)
Those of you who have holidayed on the North Coast of Antrim will no doubt be aware of Portstewart Methodist Church (PMC). However, what you may not be aware of is that this year PMC is celebrating 150 years of existence and witness. There are a number of events or special services planned to celebrate this special occasion. They are as follows:-
Anniversary Event
Monday 4th July 7.30pm Celebration of opening
Speaker: Edmund Mawhinney
Weekend of Celebrations
Friday 15th July 7.30pm Speaker - Rev Ed McDade
Saturday 16th July 7.30pm Speaker - Rev Bert Montgomery
Sunday 17th July 11.45 am Speaker - Rev Ian Henderson (President of the Methodist Church in Ireland)
Everyone welcome
Note: You may also wish to note that PMC has just finished phase 1 of renovation work (the refurbishment of the sanctuary) so it may be worth a visit.
And finally
Next week will be the last week for the news-sheet until the new session begins in September (or possibly the week before), so if anyone has any particular notices that need published, please get them to Colin Fisher this week, as early as possible. There will still be pulpit announcements, so if you need something announced in July/August, please bring it to Robert Craig or one of the stewards, again, as early as possible. Thank you.
